On August 2, China held an event to mark the 100-day countdown to the opening of China's 15th National Games in South China's Shenzhen. At the event, the official podium attire and the torches for the 15th National Games (NG), the 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities (NGD) and the 9th National Special Olympic Games (NSOG) of China, were officially unveiled.
Lin Qi, Head of the Podium Attire Design Team, stated in an interview that the horse-face skirt is integrated with a national sports event for the first time, which she believes is of great significance. The design of the formal dress first incorporates the intangible cultural heritage element of the horse-face skirt, combining it with the graceful style of the Qipao. It retains the horse-face shape and pleated sides of the skirt. The pattern features a peony in a vibrant, blossoming state, which signifies "Standing Out." She noted that this motif also represents the athletes' pursuit of the Olympic spirit—higher, faster, stronger. She hoped that the horse-face skirt could be better understood by more people through ceremonial attire and that friends around the world would discover the beauty of Chinese clothing.
